It is reported that the first machine assembly machine put into operation has a capacity of 375 MW. After completion, the Ethiopian Fuxing dam with 13 units will reach a power generation capacity of 5150 MW.

The whole project costs more than US $5 billion, all of which are borne by Ethiopia, without any loans from external sources. According to Ethiopian official media, 85% of this large-scale project has been completed.

For Ethiopians, rejuvenating the dam is of far-reaching significance, which is a sign of their rejuvenation. This dam has become Ethiopia's new "four proudes" together with ancient humans Lucy, gonder castle and lalibera rock church.
