British MCS certification

MCS is the abbreviation of microgeneration certification scheme, which means the British micro power generation product certification scheme. A special scheme is being implemented in the UK: the subsidy payment is managed by the UK micro power generation product certification scheme Committee. MCS is an independent organization with government background, which carries out standard certification for micro power generation products.

In the UK, once users buy products with MCS certification, the government will provide subsidies. And from April, 2010, users with MCS certified photovoltaic products can also sell the remaining power to the State Grid. In this way, the UK will fulfill its 2020 renewable energy commitment.

As one of the active promoters of the development of low-carbon economy, 40% of the national electricity composition of Britain comes from low-carbon fields, including renewable energy such as wind energy and wave energy.

As a manufacturer of small power generation products, obtaining MCS certification for products is a necessary condition to improve sales. In view of the high degree of privatization of housing in the UK, and the feed in tariff subsidy policy is very beneficial to enterprises, these are guarantees for the return on investment of photovoltaic product export enterprises. As an emerging market, the UK is expected to install 100MW in 2010.

MCS certification is based on the test report of iec/en 61215 issued by the authorized NCB and the factory production control system audit.

Scope of certification:

At present, there are six products that can be certified according to the following standards:

1. Solar heating collectors

2. Solar PV solar PV module

3. Micro wind turbine

4. Heat pumps

5. Biomass energy

6. Heat led micro CHP micro thermoelectric hybrid unit

At present, MCS product certification mainly includes the following products: solar photovoltaic products (photovoltaic modules), ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, exhaust heat pumps, pool heat pumps, solar photothermal products (solar collectors, solar pool heaters), wind turbines, biomass, micro CHP, and water turbines

Certification steps:

1. Manufacturer consultation

2. Provide specification / model / technical details

3. Preliminary quotation

4. Consult the laboratory to determine the scheme / quotation confirmation

5. Contract confirmation / advance payment / project approval

6. The project department applies for certification on behalf of others

7. Sample submission / document submission

8. Sample test

9. Factory review

10. Obtain certificate
