Kgs (Korea Gas Safety Corporation) is the abbreviation of Korea Gas Safety Corporation, which has the right to audit the manufacturer of gas related products, and those who pass the audit can be registered with the Ministry of trade, industry and energy of Korea.

Since 2013, in order to ensure the personal safety of citizens, the Korean government has implemented 100% full certification for products and accessories involving gases. Especially for imported products sold to South Korea, all gas related products and accessories to be sold to South Korea should pass the certification of Korean kgs, and strictly implement the factory registration system of on-site audit for manufacturers.

The establishment of kgs factory registration and certification system is to ensure that only manufacturers with quality assurance ability verified by audit can export products to South Korea, so as to prevent gas safety accidents caused by product quality. Enterprises that have applied for factory registration at this institution will be issued with certificates of conformity after passing the strict examination. With this certificate and in strict accordance with the relevant quality control system, manufacturers can sell their products to the Korean market.

Relationship between kgs certification and ASME certification

Before 2013, Korean kgs institutions recognized ASME certificates. From 2012 to November, ASME certification cannot replace kgs, but kgs institutions recognized ASME materials and technical specifications. When applying for kgs, if it has passed the ASME certification in the United States, the kgs Organization recognizes the relevant technology. The factory can apply for kgs certification by virtue of the relevant ASME data and equipment, and the kgs examiner will reconfirm and review according to the data of this certification. After that, Korean kgs will require the production factory to be reviewed, and only after obtaining kgs certification can it be sold in the Korean market.

Kgs certification mode

Kgs certification is the national certification that adopts the judgment review after direct demonstration, and other certifications are educational reviews. For example, the purpose of domestic standards is guidance review, and the goal is to give you correction while reviewing, and finally achieve the goal of improvement. Korean review is error correction review. The process is not guided, only error correction, and then determine whether it is qualified.
