ASME certification

Background of ASME certification body

ASME is the English abbreviation of American Society of mechanical engineers. Founded in 1880, the American Society of mechanical engineers has branches all over the world. It is an international academic organization with great authority and influence. ASME is mainly engaged in developing science and technology in mechanical engineering and related fields, encouraging basic research, promoting academic exchanges, developing cooperation with other engineering and associations, carrying out standardization activities, and formulating mechanical specifications and standards. With 125000 members, it manages the world's largest technology publishing agency, hosts 30 technical conferences and 200 professional development courses every year, and formulates many industrial and manufacturing standards.

Since its establishment, ASME has led the development of mechanical standards, and has developed more than 600 standards since the initial thread standards. The boiler machinery directive committee was established in 1911, and the machinery directive was issued from 1914 to 1915. Later, the directive was combined with the laws of various states and Canada. ASME has become a worldwide engineering organization mainly in the fields of technology, education and investigation. In addition, ASME is one of the five sponsors of ANSI. ANSI's mechanical standards are mainly proposed with its assistance and participate in ISO activities on behalf of the technical advisory group of the American National Standards Committee.

Classification and application scope of ASME certification items

ASME certification projects include the following four categories:

Boiler and pressure vessel (BPV)

Nuclear power plant (n-type)

Nuclear raw materials (QSC)

Resin and plastic containers (RTP)

For these certification projects, ASME awarded 25 kinds of steel seals and corresponding certification certificates to manufacturing enterprises around the world. Among them, those beginning with u belong to the category of pressure vessels, those beginning with H belong to the category of boiler products, and those beginning with n belong to the category of nuclear power plants. At present, 127 enterprises have passed ASME certification in China, most of which have obtained U steel seal and s steel seal.

ASME Boiler and pressure vessel code

ASME Boiler and pressure vessel code is a safety management code that controls the design, manufacture and inspection of boiler and pressure vessels. It is supplemented once a year and revised once every three years. The main contents are as follows:
